MAROM is an acronym
for Mercaz Ruchani u'Masorti The center for spirituality and
masoret (tradition.)
MAROM is an
organization of Masorti (Conservative) students and young adults
(18-30+) who come together for study, seminars, Shabbat and
holiday celebrations, as well as for cultural and religious
events. Marom is also a social group for people of the same
beliefs to get together and meet one another.
MAROM believes in
living a modern Jewish lifestyle, constantly learning and
dealing with issues of day to day reality in a Jewish life.
Marom believes in Zionism, Masorti Judaism and equal rights.
MAROM strives to
strengthen the connections between Masorti students in Israel
and those throughout the Diaspora, to deepen the awareness among
Masorti young adults of the centrality of Israel, and to
encourage "hagshamah" or "self-realization" through aliyah to
Israel.
MAROM groups and
activities can be found in Argentina, Chile, Czech Republic,
England, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Poland, Russia and
Ukraine. In North America, Marom operates under the auspices of
KOACH, the College Outreach Department of the United Synagogue
of Conservative Judaism.
MAROM is under the
auspices of Masorti Olami, MERCAZ Olami and the Hagshama
Department of the World Zionist Organization.
