Motz’ei Shabbat, 16 September 2017, 9.00pm

Hosted by Kol Nefesh Masorti Synagogue

Leonard Sainer Centre, Rectory Lane, Edgware HA8 7LF

In the Ashkenazi tradition, special Selichot (prayers of repentance) are said several days before Rosh Hashanah and it is customary to have a service at midnight after the preceding Shabbat but we are starting at 9.00pm.  It is an inspiring preparation for the High Holydays.  Many shuls have large choral events but ours is intimate, warm and encourages participation. The mood is serene and bears an air of expectancy. The music is evocative, lyrical and designed for everyone to join in. The service introduces some of the familiar melodies used during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
